PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the gain function of an antenna in a transmission mode or a reception mode which is not changed due to the change of frequencies. SOLUTION: In this method for obtaining a gain function by weighing a received signal or a signal to be transmitted by the array of an antenna and a complex coefficient vector ((-) b) called a weighting vector, a reference gain function is applied, and the reference gain function is orthogonally projected to the partial space of the gain function generated by the weighting vector of the space of a gain function preliminarily provided by using a norm. Therefore, it is possible to select the weighting vector for generating the projected reference gain function as the optimal weighting vector.
