PURPOSE: To produce a foundation cloth for an air bag, excellent in impact resistance and coatability and requiring only a low starting-load cost by subjecting a woven cloth woven with untwisted yarns as warps and wefts to coating treatment. CONSTITUTION: This foundation cloth is produced by warping drawn yarns of cheeses, which are formed through a spin-draw take-up method, on a creel stand for a vertically, passively unwinding method or a horizontally, actively unwinding one, by beaming them and by weaving them, followed by subjecting one surface of the woven cloth to coating treatment to form foundation cloth for an air bag. The foundation cloth has only slight unevenness in coating and high impact resistance, and doesn't require a scouring process. |
