Continuous press for pressing pressed-material mats in the manufacture of chipboards, fibreboards and the like, comprising press upper part, press lower part and steel bands which are endlessly guided around the press upper part and also around the press lower part with the aid of deflection rollers and are supported with interposition of rolling bars in the pressing region on associated press plates. The rolling bars are connected by a bearing journal to chain links of circulating rolling-bar chains, and to be precise under the action of a restoring spring with a degree of compensating freedom which allows or causes an alignment of the rolling bars during the introduction into the pressing region and prevents running constraints in the pressing region. The chain links are designed as angular spring-steel components which are connected to one another in imbricated fashion by one connecting leg. The other, elastically deformable supporting leg in each case is shaped to form a cylindrical receiving sleeve for the associated rolling bar, into which receiving sleeves the bearing journals of the rolling bars are inserted. <IMAGE>
