The filter system for milk being transported to the milk tank (20) comprises at least two filters (13, 15) arranged in parallel in the milk line (9). A switching mechanism is provided for switching the circulation of milk and/or cleaning fluid from one filter to another filter during cleaning of the milk line. An Independent claim is also included for an automatic milking process, in which the milk and cleaning fluid are circulated in the same direction through the milk line leading to the milk tank, where the above filter system is utilised.
