<p>PURPOSE:To efficiently remove SO2, by a method wherein a SO2-contg. exhaust gas is brought in contact with an adsorbent of a high Si-contg. inorganic porous body at 130-500 deg.C and at near atmospheric pressure for SO2 adsorption and then the pressure of the adsorbent is reduced to 0.05-0.3atm. CONSTITUTION:A high temperature exhaust gas from a boiler 1 is introduced into a adsorbent tower 5A at as low as near atmosphere pressure and SO2 in the exhaust gas is adsorbed in silica gel 6A at 130-500 deg.C. Meanwhile, another adsorbent tower 5B is evacuated by a vacuum pump 7, SO2 is released from a silica gel 6B, and the released gas is cooled by heat-exchanger 8 then heated by desulfurized exhaust gas in a heat-exchanger 17 so as to be exhausted from a chimney 14.</p> |
