<p>PURPOSE:To treat foamed shale by kneading the foamed shale and soil together by a kneading means so that the volume of the foamed shale is reduced by the contact with the soil. CONSTITUTION:Foamed shale, which is being used as a light-weight aggregate or a low-temperature insulation, has an extremely small specific gravity and, hence, there are many cases where the treatment of waste foamed shale is difficult because of its bulkiness. In order to greatly reduce its volume, the waste foamed shale is portionwise introduced into a mixer and mixed therein with soil. As a result, the foamed shale incorporated is scattered over the soil and, hence, it can be uniformly mixed with the soil without forming agglomeration of foamed shale. By this stirring, the foamed shale is greatly reduced in volume. Further, a raised ground formed out of this mixture of soil and foamed shale is well prevented from becoming fragile or hard even when the ground is dried, and has other excellent properties.</p> |
