<p>PURPOSE: To improve the quality of a three-dimensional surface image by forming the three-dimensional array of data for indicating the number of events at three-dimensional matrix points over an entire volume concerned. CONSTITUTION: A scanner 11 has a gantry 13 that is supported in vertical posture as shown by a pedestal 14 and the gantry 13 supports a camera head 16 by an arm aggregation body 17, and the camera head 16 is balanced by a balancing weight 18 at the other edge of the aggregation body 17. Also, with the aggregation body 17, the entire part is rotated in the gantry 13 by a motor drive device and the head 16 is rotated along a circular path around a patient 19 supported on a table 12. In this case, the number of events at the current position of a projection line is calculated from the three-dimensional array of data and is compared with a preset threshold. Then, data for reproducing the tomography at the section of a patient 19 concerned are collected, thus improving the quality of a three-dimensional surface image.</p> |
