The novel embodiment and arrangement, proposed according to the invention, of a flexible bottom trough, preferably suitable for fast-running bucket conveyors, serves primarily to achieve two aims: 1. It is to effect a better filling of the buckets as independently as possible of the value of the conveying speed. 2. It is to prevent bulk-material deposits from being able to form in the actual basin of the bucket conveyor, which deposits lead to high scooping resistances when run against by the buckets. Furthermore, the flexible material of the bottom trough and the resilient suspension, at one side, of the trough are to avoid wedging of bulk material between the trough and the bucket outer edge.
