PURPOSE:To obtain uniform image characteristics by classifying and sampling only toner having toner characteristics within a proper range. CONSTITUTION:A fur brush 25 attracts toner which is charged electrostatically by friction against a carrier roller 1 operating similarly to a carrier for a two- component developer to the surface of a carrier roller 1 electrostatically. Then uncharged and low charged toner particles are separated from the carrier roller 1 with a centrifugal force and wind pressure through the rotation of the carrier roller 1 and put close to an electrostatically charged moving surface, and a bias applied to the carrier roller 1 is adjusted to gather only toner which is charged uniformly and properly on the moving surface while leaving strongly charged toner on the carrier roller 1. Then the strongly charged toner remaining on the carrier roller 1 is recovered. Then only toner having constant electrostatic charging characteristics is collected except the low charged toner and high charged toner. Consequently, the uniform image characteristics are obtained. |
