SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technology of synthesis of phthalimide used as a parent raw in production of N-(cyclohexylthio)phthalimide, anthranilic acid, different products if fine organic synthesis and a special addition in nickel plating. New aspect of the proposed method involves interaction at 114-119.5 C under excessive pressure from 0.05 to 0.7 ati and in the mole ratio phthalic anhydride : urea in the range = 1.0 : (0.67-0.95) in an organic solvent medium, among them, taken from the group: coal xylene, petroleum xylene, ortho-xylene, meta-xylene, para-xylene, ethylbenzene taken in the amount 230-300% of the parent phthalic anhydride used.
