PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity by using a layer of an anthanthrone compound arranged in crystal faces and superior in orientation as an electric charge generating material. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive layer is provided with a charge generating layer made of the oriented anthanthrone compound represented by formula I in which X is halogen, nitro, cyano, acyl, or carboxy substituted on the anthanthrone ring and n is an integer of 0-4, and exhibiting maximum peaks >=2 times the other refraction peak intensities at the positions of 2theta of 26.5+ or -1 deg. and/or 25.3+ or -1 deg. the X-ray diffraction using the Kalpha rays of copper, thus permit ting sensitivity to be enhanced. |
