To compensate for tolerances, it is known to provide between the mounting tab (4) of the picture tube (5) and the covering frame (9) a rotatable clamping element (7) with an area extending helically around the circumference. The object is to improve the stability of this clamping element. A number of pairs of two helical surfaces (10, 11) of different diameter are provided. This results in a support at several points along the circumference. Particularly for mounting the picture tube on the plastic covering frame of a television receiver. <IMAGE>
