In a memory arrangement for a digital video tape device in which video data are recorded distributed over several sectors on a magnetic tape, a digital memory having the capacity of at least one frame is provided into which video data read from the tape are written and from which they are read out again in accordance with a predetermined sequence. The digital memory is divided into a number of part-memories which are cyclically switched over between writing and reading at a rate which is much greater than the line frequency.
