A glass distributor system is disclosed wherein molten glass is conveyed from a source through a distributor channel (29) to a forehearth (24). The channel (29) has opposed side walls into which burners (38) are placed. These burners (38) are normally supplied a combined air/fuel mixture to heat the channel, but either a valve (46) is provided to shut off the fuel supply whereby the burner (38) will function to supply air to the channel and hence will selectively function as means to cool the channel or separate cooling means (66) are provided along each side of the channel so that the glass stream along one side of the channel may be heated while the other side is cooled. |
