摘要 PURPOSE: To obtain linear friction welding mechanism that functions in changing amplitude from the maximum to zero with a simple means by providing a cam mechanism rotatable around the first or the third vertical axis. CONSTITUTION: An element to be welded is attached to a connecting rod 24, with a driving shaft 10 rotating at a constant speed against an eccentric part 10A together with an annular cam 18. The cumulative effect of the eccentric part 10A and the annular cam makes the amplitude or the stroke of the reciprocating movement of the connecting rod 24 equal to the quadruple of a distance d (d is a distance between the first rotary shaft axis line 12 and the second axial line 16, and between the second axial line 16 and the third 20). Since this movement is a rubbing movement back and forth, it causes frictional heat before welding against the fixed element attached to the connecting rod. With the weld zone reaching a prescribed temperature, the annular cam 18 rotates only at an angle of 180 deg. or less against the driving shaft 10. The cam 18 rotates around the axial line 16 until the axial lines 20 and 12 coincide with each other; therefore, the connecting rod 24 rotates in totally cancelling eccentricity, with the element standing still, so that it is brought into contact with the fixed element for pressure welding.
