PURPOSE:To prevent a power transmission means from being damaged, by reversely switching said power transmission means which connects a crankshaft and a turbine for recovering the exhaust energy discharged from an exhaust turbosupercharger in the normal and reverse directions after the lapse of a prescribed time when the exhaust gas flow is cut off. CONSTITUTION:As for the title engine, the exhaust energy discharged from an exhaust turbosupercharger 2 is recovered by a power turbine 4, and the axial turning moment is supplied into a crankshaft 5, and the high output of the engine 1 is obtained. The turbine 4 and the crankshaft 5 are connected in rotatable manners in the normal and reverse directions through a planetary gear device and a power transmission means 6 equipped with a hydraulic clutch for operating said planetary gear device. In this case, a switching control means 7 for switching the power transmission leans 6 in the reverse direction after the lapse of a prescribed time in the case when the exhaust gas flow in an exhaust passage 3 is cut off is installed. Further, the switching control means 7 is installed so that the hydraulic pressure supplied into the hydraulic clutch is gradually increased up to the oil pressure with which the planetary gear device is operated. |
