The torch comprises a body (10) having first and second parts (10a, 10b) movable relative to one another between an extended condition (Figure 2, not shown) to expose a tubular light filter (24) therebetween and a retracted condition in which the filter is housed in the body (10). The first body part (10a) has a battery compartment (14) and supports a bulb (20). The second body part (10b) supports a lens (11) and a reflector (12). When the body parts are in a retracted condition the bulb is disposed between the lens and the reflector to emit light through the lens and when the body parts are in an extended condition the bulb is disposed behind the reflector to emit light, preferably a flashing light, through the filter. The body parts can be turned relative to one another, when in a retracted condition, to energise and focus the bulb. <IMAGE> |
