PURPOSE:To securely prevent nonsmokers from inhaling a smoking fume, by trapping the smoking fume as an upward gas flow, cleaning the fume by filtration, and blowing off the cleaned air downward to form an air shield between a smoking space and an outer space. CONSTITUTION:This hood device comprises a box-shaped hood 12 fixed to a position above a smoking seat and opened on the lower side, a shield screen lift mechanism 14 provided in the vicinity of an opening of the hood 12 for lowering a shield screen 36 at the time of smoking so as to surround the space on the upper side of the smoking seat and guide a smoking fume upward, a filter 16 for cleaning the smoking fume by filtration, and a fan 18 fixed in the hood 12 and operated for sucking and exhausting the smoking fume filtrated by the filter 16. A blow-off port 20 is provided along the inner peripheral edge of the opening of the hood 12, and the filtrated smoking fume is blown off from the port 20 to form an air shield between the smoking space and an outer space. Thus, at the time of smoking, the smoking fume is favorably guided upward by a heating or cooling air flow introduced into the smoking space and by the shield screen, and the fume is securely trapped. |
