A manual joystick in which a thumb-cap (12) extends from a housing (10) by only a few millimetres to facilitate movement by an operations thumb. The opposite end of the stick pivots about a pivot plate (22) having the shape of a regular octagon. The pivot plate pivots along its edges with greater ease than at its corner therefore eight predetermined, evenly spaced movements are more readily selected by the operator. <IMAGE> |
