PURPOSE:To control a brake power by a power turbine by installing a variable valve in an exhaust bypass passage which serves as air passage for the revolu tion of the power turbine during the brake operation by the power turbine for generating a brake power by the reverse revolution drive by an engine. CONSTITUTION:As for the title engine, the exhaust energy discharged from an exhaust turbosupercharger 6 is recovered by a turbine 7, and the axial turn ing moment is supplied into a crankshaft 16, and the high output of the engine 1 is obtained. A reverse revolving device 17 is installed between the turbine 7 and the crankshaft 16, and an engine brake power is generated. In this case, a bypass passage 8 which makes a detour around the power turbine 7 is con nected into an exhaust passage 5, and a fixed throttle 10 which can be freely mounted and demounted and a flow rate controlling variable valve 51 are installed midway in the bypass passage 8, and the opening degree of said vari able valve 51 is controlled according to the depression quantity of an accelerat ing pedal 54. Further, an opening/closing valve 13 is installed on the upstream side of the connection part of the bypass passage 8 and closing-operated when the turbine is reversely revolved. |
