PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle navigation system and a guidance route searching method which searches a guidance route in such way that the direction in which the vehicle is to travel is preferred if guidance route searching is started while the vehicle is about to turn at an intersection. SOLUTION: A route change detecting part 5 detects that a vehicle is about to turn right or left, from the operating condition of a turn signal, etc. When a route search requirement setting part 13 detects that the vehicle is about to change direction during guidance route search, it sets a point ahead in the new direction as a starting point, and sets the cost between an intersection where direction is changed and the starting point to a sufficiently high value so that it is not selected as a route. |
