PURPOSE:To prepare an electrode to make it possible to apply a large current and a coil to generate a vertical magnetic field by covering a main coil with an anti-arc coil which is formed of an anti-arc metal of a low conductivity, and connecting these coils in parallel between the electrode and lead rods. CONSTITUTION:Coils are composed of a cylindrical main coil 11 through which a current i1 flows and an anti-arc coil 11 through which a current i2 flows surrounding the main coil 10. The main coil 10 contributes mainly to apply the current, and at the same time, maintains a vertical magnetic field. On the other hand, the anti-arc coil 11 can bear the mechanical shock when a vacuum interrupter is turned on or turned off, and it is formed of an anti-arc metal whose intrinsic resistance is much larger than the main coil 10. The main coil 10 and the anti-arc coil 11 are connected in parallel electrically between the electrode 16, and a fixed lead rod 14 and a movable lead rod 15. In such a composition, the majority of the applied current flows through the main coil 10, and the mechanical shock at the turning on and off is absorbed mainly by the anti-arc coil 11. |
