PURPOSE:To surely fix optical fiber junctures to an optical fiber housing part so that transmission characteristics are not impaired by inserting reinforcing sleeves of the optical fiber junctures into tubes consisting of a thick elastic material, then housing and fixing the same into the hollow grooves of the optical fiber housing part. CONSTITUTION:The optical fiber 3 is inserted into an inside tube 41 of a heat- shrinkable tube in order to reinforce the juncture thereof. The reinforcing part consisting of the reinforcing sleeve 4 is formed when the fiber is heated after the insertion. The tube 9 inserted with the reinforcing sleeve 4 is fitted into the hollow groove 8 formed to the optical fiber housing part 1 consisting of polyethylene, etc. A press plate 10 formed with a sleeve housing groove 102 and a semicircular tube housing recess 101 is pressed to one face and is fixed by lock screws 7. Such optical fiber housing part 1 is mounted on the side plate, top plate, etc., of a housing such as an optical submarine repeating installation, etc. The outside shape of the tube 9 is circular and is, therefore, not affected even if the reinforcing sleeve 4 is inserted in any shape (vertically long, horizontally long, obliquely) into the housing part. |
