The method is for detaching an incorrect weft thread by removing a possibly already formed connection between the incorrect thread and the warp thread. the incorrect weft thread is moved from the fabric line to the middle of the gap by a blower. The weft thread is freed by simultaneously blowing and mechanically pushing away. Blowing and pushing away takes place between the fabric line and incorrect weft thread by introducing the needle-like blower in the gap. The air cooperates with the thread to be removed and comes thorugh one or more openings on the side of the facing the reed.
