PURPOSE:To obtain a smooth increase in an output by providing a turbine, bypass valve and a control means which closes the bypass valve, when an engine is in acceleration, in accordance with an engine speed in the vicinity of the value closing the bypass valve so as to drive the turbine and in accordance with a rack moving speed exceeding a preset value. CONSTITUTION:When an engine 2 is accelerated in its transfer from a low loaded condition (exhaust bypass region) to a high loaded condition (engine drive region), on condition that an engine speed is in a value in the vicinity of an engine drive region, in accordance with a rack obtaining its moving speed exceeding a preset value corresponding to a large change of engine load, a bypass valve 16 is controlled so as to be forcedly closed. Thus properly ensuring an increase of pressure in an exhaust passage 3 supplying exhaust to a turbine 4, a smooth increase in an output is obtained for an instantaneous acceleration control of the engine 2. |
