PURPOSE:To reduce a loss of energy, recovered by a power turbine, by controlling a lockup mechanism of a fluid coupling, provided interposing between the power turbine and a crankshaft, being based on a signal from an exhaust gas flow quantity detecting sensor. CONSTITUTION:Being based on a signal from an exhaust gas flow quantity detecting sensor 15 provided in an exhaust pipe 7 in the downstream side from its exhaust gas branch port 7-1 of an exhaust gas recirculation(EGR) device, a control unit 9 controls connecting force in a lockup clutch mechanism of a fluid coupling 5, connected to a power turbine 8, through on-off use solenoid valves 12, 13. Exhaust gas energy, recovered by the power turbine 8, is transmitted to a crankshaft 4 of an engine through the fluid coupling 5 and a gear mechanism 6. Thus enabling a loss of the exhaust gas energy, recovered by the power turbine, to be reduced, further an adequate control can be performed with no time delay. |
