PURPOSE:To improve decelerating performance by forming a device including a speed-change stage judging circuit, a throttle opening changing ratio detecting circuit, and a special shift-down judging circuit. CONSTITUTION:A throttle opening signal 3 is inputted into a basic speed-change stage judging circuit 1 and a throttle opening changing ratio detecting circuit 8, which, in turn, outputs a throttle opening changing ratio signal 9. The signal 9 is inputted into a special shift-down judging circuit 10. Further, vehicle traveling speed information 2 and a speed-change stage signal 5 are also inputted into the judging circuit 10. At the time of receiving information on the sudden closure of a throttle by the signal 9, the judging circuit 10 judges the existence of the overrun of an engine or a turbine in the case of shift-down, the existence of a speed-change shock, and further, the necessity of multistage shift-down, etc., and, when judged that the speed-change shock is within an allowable range and that shift down should be performed, it generates a shift-down signal 11 to the judging circuit 1. On receiving the signal 11, the judging circuit 1 stops regular speed-change stage judging processing and performs shift-down processing. |
