PURPOSE:To obtain the above catalytic component capable of stably and economically producing elastomers easy to handle and carry out molding processes etc., by immobilizing a catalytic component constituted of Ti and Cl on a porous substance with each specific pore size, mean granular size etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective catalytic component can be obtained by immobilizing a catalytic component constituted at least of Ti and Cl (e.g., TiCl3, ethoxytitanium dichloride) on a porous substance (e.g., SiO2, Al2O3 styrene- divinylbenzene copolymer) having the following characteristics: (1) pore volume for the pores with a radius of 200-2,000Angstrom ... >=0.3cc/g, (2) the above pore volume accounts for >=35% of that for the pores with a radius of 35-75,000Angstrom , (3) average granular size ... 5-300mum, (4) geometric standard deviation for granular size distribution ... <=2, and (5) solubility to toluene at 100 deg.C ...<=30wt.%.
