<p>PURPOSE:To reduce vibrations and noises resulting from the operation of the compressor in the caption by permitting the top clearance volume of one cylinder to be different from that of the other cylinder. CONSTITUTION:The tip faces 12c of the heads 12a of respective pistons 12 are ground by a different amount respectively to allow the lengths of the heads 12a to vary so that the tip face positions at the top dead centers thereof may vary, and thus respective top clearance volumes are constituted to be different between respective cylinders. The difference in the top clearance volumes between respective cylinders results in the non-uniformity of both gas amounts and gas pressures which are discharged to discharging chambers 16, 17 from the cylinder bores 11 of the respective cylinders. Vibrations and sounds produced by respective cylinders, therefore, will work so as to offset for each other sucessively and prevent the resonance and the vibrations thereof.</p> |
