PURPOSE: A method for inputting the Korean alphabet in a mobile communication terminal is provided to decide whether a previously inputted character exists if a vowel key is inputted in a Korean input mode, and to combine a vowel corresponding to the inputted vowel key with a preset consonant if the previously inputted character does not exist, then to display the combined character, thereby reducing a time required for inputting the Korean alphabet. CONSTITUTION: A controller decides whether a vowel key is inputted(100). If so, the controller decides whether a previously inputted character combinable with a vowel mapped to the vowel key exists(102). If so, the controller decides whether the previously inputted character is a consonant(104). If not, the controller decides whether the character is a vowel(108). If so, the controller decides whether the previously inputted vowel is combinable with the corresponding vowel temporarily stored in a buffer(110). If so, the controller combines the previously inputted vowel with the stored vowel to display the combined vowels(112).
