PURPOSE:To enable measurement of a partial discharge of a rotary electric machine in operation with the removal of noises by discriminating a voltage wave, a voltage wave detected with a current wave detection circuit and polarity of a current wave with a discriminator circuit to identify a direction of a propagation wave travels on a leader. CONSTITUTION:A specified portion of a leader 4 is provided with a voltage wave detection circuit 5 for detecting a voltage and a current detection circuit 6 for detecting a current wave. Polarity of a waveform detected is determined with polarity discriminator circuits 10 and 11 for discriminating polarity of waveforms detected with the circuits 5 and 6 and a direction of a propagation wave travels with a propagation wave travelling direction discriminator circuit 12. The propagation wave propagating to a power source from a supply device 3 is determined to be a partial discharge wave and that is done to be a nose when propagating in the opposite direction. Only when the noise is found by discrimination, a gate circuit 8 is closed. Among waves detected with the circuit 5, those toner than the noses are inputted into a discharge measuring circuit 9 to measure the amount of a partial discharge. |
