PURPOSE:To facilitate the cutting of a tempered glass which has been unable to cut after tempering, without using heat-treatment, etc., by holding a tempered glass plate in nearly vertical state and pressing the glass plate against a blade rotating in a definite direction at a specific circumferential speed while transferring the blade at a speed lower than a specific level. CONSTITUTION:A blade 2 is produced by electrically depositing diamond grains at an edge of a band made of a stainless steel. A hand saw 1 having the blade 2 is driven with a variable-speed motor 3, etc., in a definite rotational direction at a circumferential speed of 1100-1300m/min. A tempered glass plate 4 is held perpendicular to the blade 2, pressed against the blade and transferred at a speed of <=19mm/min. Even a tempered glass can be easily cut by this process in high efficiency at normal temperature. |
