Concrete mixes contg. residues of one or more plant crops such as shells, husks, etc. esp. non-comminuted hulls of cereal grains, chaff or bran. Pref. additives are residues of cereal grain crops such as rice, wheat, rye, oats, barley, etc.. The plant material is pref. added in an amt. of 0.5-1.5 m3 per 400 kg binder and esp. ca. 1 m3 rice hulls or the like per 400 kg cement. The concrete mixt. may also contain synthetic resin particles, esp. of epoxy resin. The concrete may also be reinforced. No specific examples are given.
