PURPOSE:To prevent crack and peeling from a substrate and obtain a thin film superconductor at a short time, by applying a raw material composition consisting of a prescribed raw material powder and binding auxiliary to the substrate in thin film form and irradiating the resultant raw material molded article with laser beam in oxidizing atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:A raw material powder consisting of an oxide of L (L is one or more kind of Y and lanthanoid elements), oxide of Cu and carbonate of M (M is one or more kind of elements of the periodic table IIa group)and having amounts constituting the aimed L-M-Cu-O based superconauctor is blended with 0.1-5.0wt.% binding auxiliary consisting of oxide of a metal such as Pb, Zn, Si, B, Al, Ca, Cu, Ti, Mg or Ba to afford a raw material composition which is a thin film superconductor raw material. The raw material composition is then applied onto a substrate for producing a superconductor made of a metal or ceramic in thin film form having 1-100mu thickness and the resultant raw material molded article is irradiated and heated with laser beam having 0.24-0.8W/mm<2> energy density in oxidizing atmosphere for 20 sec-10min to provide the aimed thin film superconductor.
