PURPOSE:To ensure the straightforwardness of worked surface of a workpiece and improve the finished surface by providing a means for holding the supply side polishing film and the take-up side polishing film respectively with pinching frictional forces on a vibration head for vibrating axially a hard roller. CONSTITUTION:A polishing film 40 is trained over a hard contact roller 50 and pressed against a workpiece W rotating clockwise. Then, the roller 50 is axially vibrated by a vibration head while the polishing film 40 is taken up to vibrate and polish the worked surface of workpiece W while maintaining the straightforwardness of workpiece. Then, push rollers (frictional holding means) 51, 52 provided on the vibration head are pressed against the contact roller 50 so that the polishing film 40 semicircularly passing by the contact roller 50 contacts completely intimately the hard contact roller 50 to increase the contact resistance force of both 40, 50 larger than the polishing resistance force of workpiece W. Thus, the worked surface can be always ground into a satisfactory finished surface without directional properties. |
