PURPOSE:To increase the number of printing lines per page, by providing an operating part having a printing line density input means, a first controlling means having a storage part, and a passbook printer having a printing means, a line feeding means and a second controlling means for controlling the printing means and the line feeding means. CONSTITUTION:When a printing line density switching key 49 at an operating part 6 is depressed, an increased-density printing mode is set in a storage part 2 of a main controlling part 3. A passbook 25 is set at a predetermined position, and magnetic stripe data is read by a magnetic stripe reading/writing part 18. The main controlling part 3 sends the printing mode data stored in the storage part 2 to a CPU 11 of a passbook printer 8 together with an instruction for printing. The CPU 11 checks whether normal printing or 1/2 spacing printing (printing in increased density) is to be executed, and sets ON an increased density line flag when increased-density printing is instructed. The passbook 25 is fed reversely, the line to be printed and the center of a printing head 20 are matched to each other, and printing is conducted for 1/2 line at a time while reading a 1/2 spacing size printing font from a ROM 12. |
