<p>PURPOSE:To decrease the wear of a head and to prolong its life by constituting the title device so that the floating height of a magnetic tape in the direction of the normal of a drum while the title device is not recording is higher than that while recording. CONSTITUTION:During the time the title device is not in recording, a servo signal switching part 3 is operated by a signal from a servo signal switching control part 4 in order to switch from a drum servo part 1 at recording to a high drum servo part 2. The rotational speed of the drum 6 and a rotary head 6 is increased, and the air flow around the drum is increased. During the time the title device is not in recording, a solenoid 9 is deenergized by an output from a tape tension switching control part 8 via a solenoid driving part 7, so that a switching arm 10 is moved in the direction of the direction of an arrow A1 by a spring 11, thus the force of the tension arm 12 to pull the tape 15 is weakened. As a result, the height of floating of the tape 15 in the direction of the normal of the drum is made higher than that during recording, the wear of the tape head is decreased, and the life of the head is prolonged.</p> |
