PURPOSE:To form an image by giving priority to a later pattern to obtain a readable color image without the overlapping of colors, by providing a control means for forming an image with a second color pattern when a first color pattern is overlapped with the second color pattern. CONSTITUTION:When a power is supplied to a color printer capable of a two- color printing with Red and Black, a color flag 7a in a RAM 7 is initialized. The data is received from a host computer 2 and stored in a receive buffer 4, and the data for one unit code is read from the receive buffer 4. If the data in judged to be a color specifying command, it is judged which color between Red and Black is specified. The color flag 7a is set to Black in case of Black specified, and set to Red in case of Red specified. With the judgement that the data is a data storage command, if the color flag 7a is judged to be set to Black, a pattern of a character code is read from a character font ROM 6 and written on a bit map of a Black buffer 7b by being ORed. Next, the pattern of the character code is read, and the bits of the read dot pattern is reversed and written on a bit map of a Red buffer 7c by being ANDed. |
