PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor which is readily manufactured at a low cost, by effectively utilizing magnetic energy. SOLUTION: A motor 40 comprises a stator unit 20, arranged concentrically with a rotating shaft 14 of the motor and a rotor unit 30 which is arranged concentrically with the rotating shaft 14. The stator unit 20 comprises a plurality of independent stator core members 5, arranged annularly around the rotating shaft 14 by a core inside-periphery side support ring part 3 and a core outside-periphery side support ring part 4, and the stator core member 5 bears a strang 13, constituted so as to generate a magnetic field in the radial direction. The rotor unit 30 is composed of permanent magnets 7a and 7b, magnet retainers 8a and 8b, and a rotor support mechanism 9 for concentrically enclosing the stator unit 20, while forming an outer-periphery side gap 18b and/or an inner-periphery side gap 18a.
