PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus control method with which a change in a telephone number can be notified to another terminal. SOLUTION: When a telephone number of a present terminal is changed in a communication apparatus comprising a telephone directory function, a plurality of registered destination telephone numbers are called to notify telephone numbers before and after the change. Furthermore, when a call arrival is detected, a telephone number on a telephone directory is automatically updated based on telephone numbers before and after a change received from an opposite party terminal.
