PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video edition assisting method which assists an editor to quickly find a desired video scene. SOLUTION: During imaging, electronic mark data optionally attached by a user to notified video scenes, etc. or electronic mark data automatically attached by an imaging apparatus to distinctive video scenes are related to video contents and stored on media 116. An edition assisting apparatus makes the user select desired electronic mark data, indicates a thumbnail list of video related to the selected electronic mark data, and supports the user to find desired video scenes while seeing the thumbnail list.
