PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording device along with an image recording method and a recording medium on which image recording program is recorded, such as a camcorder capable of recoding a subject in large size while viewing the entire image with a display device such as an LCD. SOLUTION: A camcorder 100 comprises an image inputting part 101 capable of inputting the image of a resolution higher than that to be recorded, a display unit 109 for displaying an inputted image on a display screen, a control unit 103 which performs a recorded image extracting process in which the region of an image to be recorded is set as an OSD frame 310 and the image of the region surrounded with the OSD frame 310 is extracted, a recorder/reader 107 for recording/reading the extracted image from a recording medium 108, and an operator 113 for operating the OSD frame 310.
