PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of optimally controlling a processing efficiency of image data by selecting operations for making the image data of the front side and the rear side of a double-side original stored to a storage device according to the content of an image input means and an image output means connected to the image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: In the case that images on the front side and the rear side of the double-side original read by scanner inputs 120a, 120b can be outputted to a storage device, at the same time or with an arbitrary timing in terms of time series, the operations for storing two image data on the front side and the rear side of the double-side original to the storage device are selected in response to the contents of the scanner inputs 120a, 120b and a plotter output 120c connected to the image forming apparatus.
