To enable automatic brake application when a person sitting in the wheelchair rises, a spring (13) is provided to engage the brake block (24) against a wheel. A pressure medium-activated release device with a bellows (16) is located beneath the wheelchair seat, and to which an elastic pressure medium tank is connected. - The bellows receives pressure medium when a person is seated in the chair, and holds the brake out of engagement with the hweel by overriding the force from the spring. |
