The invention relates to compositions comprising a fluorinated alcohol and at least one solvent, which can be used, for example, in devices for heating or cooling by absorption. In the compositions according to the invention, the fluorinated alcohol is hexafluoroisopropanol and the solvent is chosen from esters of carbonic acid and mono- or diethers of polyethylene glycols.
