The invention is a simplified embodiment of an engine in which the single supercharger includes a first cylindrical stage 3 located under the piston 4 which opens out largely into the crank case 15 and which is not separated from it by any partition. One of the fluids is pressurised (supercharged) in this first stage. The second is pressurised (supercharged) in the crank case, the different turbulences to which they are subjected make sure the stratification of the intake is maintained upon discharge. <IMAGE>
