The switch includes a casing (1), a pair of fixed contacts (8,9) disposed in the casing to confront each other, and a movable contact (35) mounted to an intermediate portion of a plunger (30) in a direction intersecting with the fixed contacts. Each contact is formed by cutting a rod member into a predetermined length. The plunger is slidably accommodated in the casing for movement in an axial direction, and bearing members (36,37) slidably support the plunger. A return spring (38) is directed around the outer periphery of the plunger. The movable contact is restored together with the plunger to close the pair of fixed contacts in a free state.
