Lifting apparatus for motor vehicle roof loads

In the known storage apparatus (belts, cables) for motor vehicle roof loads on the garage ceiling, it is not possible for one person satisfactorily to mount the roof load on the motor vehicle without investing a great deal of time and effort. It is not possible, using the abovementioned apparatus, to set the load, together with the roof rack, precisely on the car roof without risking scratches. In addition, the unavoidable rubbing of the belts along the load in various apparatuses leads, in time, to wear. The lifting apparatus, comprising a wall winch having an automatic mechanical brake, or alternatively a motor-driven winch, some cable rollers and, essentially, three cables which hang down from the ceiling and to which the load is attached, guarantees precise, comfortable and wear-free handling of the load. By this means, the load, together with the roof rack, can be let down from the garage ceiling as a module and be set on the car roof. For the purpose of protection against unauthorised use (underground car parks, shared garages), the crank of the winch can be removed.
