A plastics bone implant, more particularly an acetabulum, whose bone-contacting surface (5) has at least to some extent a porous structure promoting uncemented fixing, characterised in that the porous structure is a multilayer mesh material (2, 6) of metal wire, the material having defined and regular mesh sizes in each layer (2, 7), at least one layer (2) being embedded at least to some extent in the contact surface (5) of the plastics implant and a number of layers (7) of the same mesh material (2, 6) being disposed on the at least partly embedded layer (2), the mesh sizes of the layers (7) increasing outwardly from layer to layer (7c, 7b, 7a), the mesh size of the innermost layer (7c) being so small that the invading bone tissue and the plastics (1) remain separated from one another. |
