An adjusting device (19) for lumbar supports of seats for vehicles, aeroplanes and the like comprises a pressure element (10) which is held pivotably on the backrest frame (11) and the position of which can be adjusted forwards and backwards by the pivoting movement, an adjusting device (15) with a displaceable adjusting element (2), which can be guided up to a stop (3), for adjusting the position of the pressure element (10) by displacement of the adjusting element (2), a lever (5), which is in engagement with the adjusting element (2) and is held rotatably on the backrest frame (11), and a spring (6) which is connected via one end to the lever (5), whereas the other end is in engagement with a holding rod (7) of the pressure element (10), the spring (6) being designed as a spiral spring and fitting around the holding rod (7) of the pressure element (10).
